A través de los siglos, incontables prácticas de meditación han sido desarrolladas dentro de la Tradición Budista. Todas ellas pueden ser descritas como “entrenamientos de la mente”, pero éstas pueden tomar muchas diferentes formas. El fundamento de todas ellas, no obstante, es el cultivo de la calma y de estados mentales positivos. Las dos prácticas de meditación básicas para desarrollar esas cualidades son el “Seguimiento de la Respiración” y el “Amor Universal” (más conocida como Metta bhavana).
